Power likely to miss out for Cats as Tipp sweat on Maher

Champions Kilkenny face an anxious wait on the fitness of a couple of players before Sunday’s Allianz Hurling League final against Tipperary, but it looks likely Richie Power will be unavailable.

The Carrickshock attacker, winner of four Leagues and six senior All-Ireland medals, has a couple of cracked ribs and looks a doubtful starter for the Nowlan Park showdown.

Power played with his club at the weekend but he was very sore afterwards and x-rays revealed he has at least two damaged ribs.
