McEnaney: Wrong red card decision just as serious as failure to issue one

Pat McEnaney admits a referee getting a sending off decision wrong in hurling is just as serious as one who doesn’t issue a red card for a straight dismissal offence.

The national referees committee chairman famously claimed there should have been eight more red cards issued in last year’s All-Ireland SHC than the two that were actually shown.

However, he intimated there may have been players who were incorrectly sent off in recent weeks.
