A paltry 251 spectators saw Conor Sweeney goal for Tipperary in the 28th minute, after good work by George Hannigan to give his side an interval lead of 1-6 to 0-3.

London piled on the pressure in the second half but resolute Tipperary defending maintained a three point advantage after 51 minutes.
