Walsh: I didn’t deserve an All Star last year

Kilkenny icon Tommy Walsh says it was “hugely disappointing” not to win an All Star award last year, but admits his performances didn’t merit one.

Walsh, who has already won nine All Star awards said: “It was hugely disappointing. I wasn’t hugely disappointed that I didn’t get the All Star I was hugely disappointed that I didn’t play well enough to get one because I didn’t deserve one on my performances last year.

“I suppose hopefully this year I’ll pick up because any player will tell you, the first thing they look at before you win anything is your own performance, you want to do well every day you go out.
