Moroney: Gates set to drop again this year

Interim Munster GAA CEO Simon Moroney has warned gate receipts are expected to drop again for the province in 2013.

Despite a rise in attendance for the senior hurling championship (the equivalent football competition recorded a drop largely due to Cork and Kerry not playing in the final), the gate receipt totals for both decreased significantly last year from 2011.

The non-seeded football championship was a big loser as their 2012 accounts show a drop in gate receipts of €441,986 from 2011’s figure.
