Kerry star Boyle hit with 48-week suspension
Former county skipper Boyle was hit with the suspension following allegations he “interfered with an official” in the North Kerry SFC quarter-final between his club Ballyduff and St Senan’s last month.
The Divisional Board’s disciplinary chiefs imposed the punishment following a review of the match report from referee Eddie Barrett.
Boyle appealed the decision to the Munster Council but provincial bosses upheld the ban. Team mate John Paul Leahy, who originally incurred a 48 week ban from the same game, had his suspension cut to 24 weeks on appeal.
