Clare probe ongoing

It will be at least another week before Clare’s Bord na nÓg Iomaint finish their investigation into the ugly scenes that marred last month’s minor hurling final between Kilmaley and Clarecastle.

Clare probe ongoing

Chairman Martin Reynolds confirmed there won’t be any recommendations until next week at the earliest.

“The investigation will be taking two or three weeks and we’re awaiting the outcome of that,” said Reynolds. Referee Jim Hickey dismissed both managers, Kilmaley’s Niall Romer and Clarecastle’s Tom Howard, while photographs showed Howard’s selector and current Dublin manager Anthony Daly and fellow Clarecastle man Stephen Sheedy involved in an altercation with Romer. Clarecastle member Reynolds has excused himself from the process because of his club’s involvement in the incident.
