Shefflin: Dirty Cats claims off the wall

Hurler of the Year Henry Shefflin claims the depiction of Kilkenny as a dirty team in some quarters of the media was “off the wall”.

Asked if he shared manager Brian Cody’s disgruntlement with how his team were perceived following the All-Ireland semi-final win over Tipperary, the All Star centre-forward said people in the county took offence to the idea that they were playing beyond the rules.

“I thought there were certain things that came out in the press that to be fair to good hurling people all over the country said didn’t make sense,” remarked Shefflin.
