Let final referee McGrath get on with the job, urges Cody

Brian Cody has reiterated his opposition to people “with an agenda” trying to influence the referee before the drawn All-Ireland final.

Cody felt Kilkenny’s way of playing had been questioned after their All-Ireland semi-final win over Tipperary, and he again insisted his side weren’t involved in the “negative stuff” in that game.

“There was a lot of stuff coming out — from GAA officials — about the reaction to the All-Ireland semi-final, that suddenly the referee was almost given instructions on how to referee the game.
