Tipp’s Power steps down

Tipperary’s All-Ireland MFC-winning manager David Power has stepped down from the role.

Tipp’s Power steps down

The Kilsheelan-Kilcash clubman, 29, who guided the Premier boys to glory in 2011 and the last eight this season, had four years at the helm

Football Board chairman Noel Morris last night explained: “David Power has decided to take a break from team management because he has to study for some accountancy exams. David has done a tremendous job for Tipperary football, and he has really put us on the map at minor level, with last year’s All-Ireland and two Munster titles in a row.

“We’re very sorry to lose him, and we’ll now have to start the process of finding a replacement.”

But better news for Tipperary football is that senior boss Peter Creedon has committed to another year. Creedon took over from John Evans as Tipperary interim manager following the Kerryman’s resignation in the aftermath of the Division Three league defeat by Sligo in mid-March.
