Hamilton High School secured a first-ever Dr Harty Cup win as they beat Coláiste Chríost Rí in their Group C opener at Ballygarvan.

Having led six points in the first half and four in the second, the Bandon school looked to have blown their chances as goals kept the city side in contention, but injury-time points from Jerry O’Neill and Trevor Horgan earned them the win.

The ‘Hammies’ had moved 0-7 to 0-4 clear following O’Neill’s 23rd-minute point before Horgan burst clear of the Críost Rí defence and fire to the net for a six-point lead.
