Clare thrive by sharing one goal and one style

With so many players common to both teams it makes sense that Clare U21s under Dónal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor and Davy Fitzgerald’s seniors should also have a common style of play.

“Dónal and Gerry are constantly in touch with Davy and the senior management team,” said defender Patrick O’Connor.

“For the good of Clare hurling there needs to be a link. There needs to be a thread sewn between those two panels to make sure that Clare hurling is going in the one direction. You should be told the same thing the whole time. On that basis there’s been an agreement come to [between the management teams] as to how we want to play our hurling.”
