Power says Rice was Cats’ inspiration

Richie Power has revealed a half-time speech by injured Michael Rice inspired them to victory in last Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final.

Rice, a Carrickshock clubmate of Power’s, spoke passionately about the players winning to give him a chance of playing against Galway on September 9 after picking up a nasty hand injury in the first-half.

However, it was later confirmed that he had sustained serious damage to his hand following a tackle by Padraic Maher.
