The classy South Kerry midfielder made no mistake when he sent veteran Rathmore goalkeeper Jamieson Hughes the wrong way midway through the opening half to push the divisional side 1-3 to 0-4 in front. Thereafter they never trailed.

Rathmore keeper Hughes, the club’s fourth choice shot-stopper, was at fault for the penalty when he pulled down Chris O’Driscoll, but he made amends late in the game with a tremendous double save.
