Powerful Dingle cruise it

Dingle had too much power all over the field for their rivals with Mikey Geaney a revelation on the on the 40 and his brother Daithí and cousin Paul doing more damage in the inside line.

Gneeveguilla have been badly hit by a combination of injuries and emigration and although they battled to the end, they never looked like causing an upset.

David and Paul Devane kicked Dingle’s opening two points and it wasn’t until the 13th minute that Liam Murphy opened Gneeveguilla’s account with a free, quickly followed by a point from John Paul Brosnan.

Two Daithí Geaney points, and a punched effort from Paul Geaney saw Dingle move two clear (0-5 to 0-3) by the 20th minute. Dingle struck for the crucial score in the 24th minute after Paul Geaney was upended in the square, Daithí Geaney scoring from the spot.

Despite kicking eight wides, Dingle lead 1-5 to 0-4 at half time and quickly made their mark on the resumption with seven unanswered points, Paul Geaney (3), Joe Sheehy (2) and Daithí Geaney (2) all scoring, and it was game over at 1-12 to 0-5 with just 16 minutes remaining.
