Regan predicts relegation for Offaly

Former Offaly hurler turned pundit Daithi Regan has predicted the county will be relegated to the Christy Ring Cup within five years.

In the wake of yesterday’s 14-point Leinster semi-final defeat to Galway, Regan called on county board officials to act. He tweeted: “When will Offaly co board call an EGM to plan an underage structure in our games, within 5 years we will be playing christy ring. We can’t say we have underage officers doing work on the ground, we have no policy, structure, plan, they must be honest with people.”

Working for Newstalk in Portlaoise, Regan tweeted during the game: “No pattern to our play, getting opened up.” From 2013, teams can be relegated to and from the Liam MacCarthy competition.
