Tribesmen praying for good news on Hanley
Hanley is set for a scan on a serious shoulder injury which forced him to go off in the second half of the surprise Connacht semi-final loss to Sligo on Saturday night. Manager Alan Mulholland said he was hopeful that his full-back is not as seriously injured as initially feared.
“He’s in a sling and it is a matter of assessing just how bad it is. It may be a dislocation or an issue with the A/C joint but the picture should be a lot clearer once he has the scan. Hopefully, it will not be as serious as we feared and that he will be back in time for the qualifiers next month.
“We need to bounce back from the Sligo defeat,” said Mulholland. “The lads will go back to their clubs but we will be regrouping soon and starting to prepare for whoever we face. We can’t dwell on the Sligo game but we can learn from it. For example, we had 37 attacks to 29 for them and yet they won by five points. That is the one thing which disappointed us, up to now we had been making the most of chances but we didn’t against Sligo. That is one thing we must sort out.”
