Counihan out to hit early-season high notes

The players may all be fit and focused on Sunday’s battle with Kerry but that does not mean there is a clean bill of health in the Cork senior football camp.

Conor Counihan underwent a minor knee operation and, resting on crutches at a press briefing in Páirc Uí Rinn last week, he issued his own fitness update.

“I’m 50-50 at this stage,” laughed the Cork boss. “I’m the only worry, we’ve leave it until the last minute to see.”
