Sheehan’s knee injury a major concern for Kerry

Jack O’Connor has not ruled Bryan Sheehan out of Sunday’s Munster semi-final against Cork — but admits his knee injury is a worry.

Sheehan’s knee injury a major concern for Kerry

Sheehan, the team’s principal free-taker, sustained damage in the quarter-final win over Tipperary and the midfielder is in a race to be fit to line out at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

“He did a bit of damage to his knee in the Tipperary game and he’s a concern,” said O’Connor.

“He got a bit of treatment up in Santry (Sports Clinic) during the week and we’ll just see how he goes. Obviously, it’s a concern because he’s an important player for us.”

O’Connor confirmed Marc Ó Sé is in the shake-up to return to the team after missing out on the Tipp game.

“Marc missed the last game with a bit of a hamstring strain but he has trained well since and he’s well in contention to play against Cork.”
