Galway to go slow with Meehan return

Galway defender Finian Hanley has cast doubt over whether Micheal Meehan is ready for a full senior inter-county championship game.

Meehan has suffered a horrendous streak of injuries in recent years, in particular a serious ankle problem, but made a return to competitive action when he was introduced during Galway’s impressive Connacht championship victory over Roscommon last Sunday week.

Yet Hanley feels that Saturday week’s semi-final showdown against Sligo in Pearse Stadium may come too soon for Meehan.
