CLINICAL strikers Dean Rock and Michael McCarthy led Dublin to a five-point victory over Wicklow in a challenge match at Greystones last night.

Both counties used this match to give game time to fringe players.

Full-forward McCarthy and Dean Rock contributed 1-11 between them as Dublin established a 1-13 to 0-5 lead at the end of a dominant first half.

Wicklow fared much better on the change over after introducing several of their first team players and they proceeded to outscore their opponents by 1-8 to 0-5 in the second period.

Substitute Mark Doyle scored Wicklow’s goal and a string of points from Seanie Furlong, Leighton Flynn, Rory Finn and Frank Clune reduced the gap to 1-18 to 1-13 at the final whistle.
