Derry dominate Kingdom

Derry were never troubled in this lacklustre affair at Celtic Park yesterday which leaves both sides mid-table in Division 2A.

Derry dominate Kingdom

The hosts dominated from the off with Paddy Henry and Conor Quinn dominating in defence while up front, Kevin Hinphey and Ruairi Convery caught the eye en route to a 0-9 to 1-2 interval lead. The game’s only goal came in the 23rd minute when Derry keeper Oisín O’Doherty failed to control a shot from Gary O’Brien and James Flaherty whipped a loose ball to the net.

Derry should have netted in the final minute but Paddy Henry failed to connect.

In the second period, Derry controlled the play but missed chance after chance, including a 55th minute Convery penalty yet ran out convincing winners.
