Ó Sé facing only two-match suspension

Tomás Ó Sé may miss Kerry’s last round league game against Mayo and the Division 1 semi-final following his dismissal in the win over Laois.

Ó Sé facing only two-match suspension

Croke Park yesterday confirmed a third Category II offence (striking) within 48 weeks carries the same two-match ban for a repeat infringement inside the same time frame. The 2004 Footballer of the Year incurred his third red card in the last 10 months when he was dismissed for a reported striking offence in the early stages of the first half in Killarney.

There had been some debate yesterday whether Ó Sé faced a lengthier suspension after already serving a two-match ban for a repeat Category II suspension. If, as expected, referee Marty Duffy reported it as a Category II offence it will be treated as a repeat transgression by the Central Competitions Control Committee.
