A young Co Limerick GAA star has come out of a week-long coma after a horrific roof top fall at the family farm.

Thomas Kennedy, aged 12, from Caherconlish, who won the local GAA club’s underage player of the year award last year, received life-threatening injuries when he went to inspect work on a new milking parlour being built on the family farm.

He fell 22ft when he accidentally stepped on an unmarked skylight on the roof which collapsed under him.
