The Cork College went ahead on 19 minutes after Alan Browne was fouled 25 yards from goal and Paul Lawlor’s resultant free flew past keeper Stephen Kavanagh. St Kevin’s equalised with their first meaningful attack on 38 minutes, when John Harcourt set up captain Daniel Matthews to beat Mark McGrath with an angled finish.
After Roy Kenny was inches wide with a thunderous free kick four minutes into the second half, the Cork College regained the lead on 57 minutes, courtesy of a Browne free.
St Kevin’s were level on 74 minutes when Dylan Byrne sent in a superb left-wing corner that found the head of the unchallenged Marco Chindea at the back post and he powered an unstoppable header past Mark McGrath.
Nagle’s Daniel McCarthy and St Kevin’s Chindea had chances in the final minutes but the tie remained deadlocked after the regulation time.
With 104 minutes elapsed, Chindea spotted Nagle keeper Mark McGrath off his line and lobbed the ball to the net for victory.
