They may find themselves in the minority but both Westmeath and Tipperary back the idea of GAA inter-county managers being compensated for their work.

With a growing number of counties calling on the GAA to enforce its amateur status, both counties support the idea of better rewards for bosses.

While they are strictly against payments, they want top level managers made eligible for expense rates akin to those received by the civil service, as outlined in model two of option three in director general Páraic Duffy’s discussion paper.
