The midfielder was acknowledged for his scintillating provincial campaign, especially his performances in the two final games with Crusheen and the semi-final against Ballygunner.

Joey Scullion, who faces Dowling and Na Piarsaigh with his Loughgiel team on Saturday, has been voted as the best player in the Ulstercampaign.

Coolderry’s Cathal Parlon, who will line out against Gort in Saturday’s other semi-final, was acknowledged for his displays in Leinster.

Parlon made a memorable contribution to Coolderry’s inaugural Leinster club SHC title, scoring 0-6 against Ballyboden and 1-3 against Oulart-the-Ballagh in the final as the Offaly champions upset the favourites to become Leinster kingpins.

All three players are first-time winners, with the awards due to be presented in Dublin on Tuesday, March 6.
