Refs quizzed on work terms

OVER 200 questionnaires have been sent out to referees around the country in the early stages of the Gaelic Match Officials Association’s formation.

Refs quizzed on work terms

Among the 11 questions asked are:

Do you think that there are an increasing number of cases involving violence and intimidation of match officials?;

Do you feel that you’re divisional or county board do enough to protect match officials by enforcing heavy penalties on clubs, players or officials who are found guilty of assaulting or intimidating a referee?;

Have you ever been disappointed by your county hearings committee reducing a severe punishment for assaulting a referee down to a minimal sentence in the past few years?

The questionnaire will be available on www.gaelicrulesadvice.ie.
