WEXFORD manager Jason Ryan admitted he considered the idea of taking the Waterford hurling post last October.

The former Déise footballer was touted for the position, which was eventually filled by Michael Ryan, before he agreed to stay on for a fifth season with last year’s Leinster runners-up.

“The easiest thing for me to say without causing any trouble is I thought about the job,” said Ryan, who revealed he had to give due deliberation to continuing in the Wexford role.
