Ryan reckons Kelly made his own bed

WATERFORD manager Michael Ryan insists Eoin Kelly ruled himself out of the 2012 panel.

Speaking to WLR FM, the Fourmilewater man claimed the two-time All Star had refused an offer to rejoin the panel for the duration of this month on the proviso he met with management. That invitation came after Kelly had returned a poor fitness test conducted by trainer Pat Flanagan before Christmas.

“We met with Eoin Kelly in October as we did with a number of other players. He was then brought in and given a fitness assessment and a gym programme for seven weeks,” said Ryan.
