GAA clarify change in All-Ireland scheduling

CROKE PARK officials have quelled rumours that next September’s All-Ireland finals dates were changed to facilitate an American Football game.

Last January the then Minister for sport Mary Hanafin confirmed her department had been in talks with the NFL over a possible game in Croke Park next year.

When the GAA moved the normal dates of the All-Ireland finals, which will be announced next week in the masters fixtures plan, it sparked rumours that the NFL were due to occupy Croke Park for a regular season game.
