Fitzgerald set to be ratified Limerick U21 hurling boss
Fitzgerald has been recommended by the five-man selection committee to take on the role instead of Leo O’Connor, who guided the county to provincial honours last August with an epic final victory over Cork. Na Piarsaigh clubman Fitzgerald has previous management experience with Adare and Murroe-Boher.
Moran, who retired from the Limerick seniors in 2009, will take up his first inter-county management position, with Natal O’Grady, part of the successful coaching setup with reigning Dr Harty Cup champions Ardscoil Rís in recent years, also set to come on board as a selector. O’Grady is also set to take over as the new Limerick intermediate hurling manager with that squad set to continue to serve as an U24 development squad for the county’s senior team.
