Brogan and Fennelly scoop top awards
Kilkenny’s Michael Fennelly took home the hurling equivalent following a stellar year at midfield in the Cats’ march to All-Ireland honours last month.
The Young Footballer of the Year went to Mayo corner-forward Cillian O’Connor, who enjoyed a superb league campaign as well as an excellent All-Ireland quarter-final against Cork. Though Mayo were eventually beaten by Kerry in the last four, O’Connor was among their leading lights on the day. Liam Rushe of Dublin was named Young Hurler of the Year.
