Dublin may push for August All-Irelands
Kettle believes such a move will help avoid the recent situation which saw Dublin reliant on the goodwill of other Leinster counties so that the county’s club kingpins can be represented in the provincial championships.
The Leinster Council voted through massive concessions to Dublin last Wednesday, with the tie between the Dublin and Meath football champions brought forward by three weeks, from October 23 to November 13. The Leinster final will now take place on December 18, and not December 4 as originally scheduled, while Dublin’s club hurling champions will play the Westmeath winners on November 6, a week later than planned.
