MAYO manager James Horan has vowed to leave no stone unturned in the search for a new coach.

Horan hunting for new Mayo coach

Horan stressed it does not matter what part of the country the new coach is from as if they are good enough to benefit Mayo football then they will be appointed. The Mayo manager is on the lookout for a new management team after selectors Paul Jordan and Martin Connolly decided to step down from their positions.

Horan was wholesome in his praise for the work both men had done over the last year, but stressed that it was important to find someone of equal quality.

“The dedication shown by Martin and Paul over the season was second to none. They have a great love of Mayo football and that was evident in everything they did,” Horan told the Western People.

“We’re looking for the very best coach out there, someone with ambition, drive and a desire to succeed. I don’t care who they are or where they’re from as long as they can do the job for Mayo. There’s a big task here and big opportunities and we’re looking to work hard and achieve as much as we possibly can.”
