MICK O’DWYER, learned long ago that it was better never to say never when it comes to his plans to walk away from inter-county management and the Waterville man revealed yesterday that the clamour for his services is as strong as ever.

The former Kerry, Kildare, Laois and Wicklow boss has revealed that more than one county has already approached him about the possibility of taking control of inter-county teams for the 2012 season but the man himself continues to confound when pressed for a straight answer.

“Well, it doesn’t look like it at the moment but then again you never know,” he said when asked if he would be back. “I’ll be involved with my own club in Waterville. I won’t be too far away, I can assure you.”
