Gilroy: We’ve lost our final – now we’re ready to win one

PAT GILROY ranks last year’s narrow All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Cork as the equivalent of losing a final.

The St Vincent’s man understandably rejects out of hand the idea Dublin have to lose a decider before they win one. However, he argues that loss to Conor Counihan’s side 13 months ago was a truly painful experience for his men.

“I think last year we were beaten by the All-Ireland champions by a point and that particular game had a feel of a final-type about it,” he said.
