Gavin bloodied but unbowed

The Offaly referee had to have his bloody nose tended to by the Kilkenny and Tipperary medics after Walsh accidentally caught him as Gavin attempted to break up a group of opposing players in the first half.

The game didn’t restart for three minutes as a result of the injury as medics attempted to stem the blood flowing.
