Theft shock for Leitrim ladies

LEITRIM’S ladies footballers have been left “devastated” by the theft of personal belongings from their team bus at Cashel’s Leahy Park last Saturday.

Theft shock for Leitrim ladies

The Connacht team lost the All-Ireland IFC semi-final against Cavan and their misery was compounded by the loss of many valuable items, including cash, iPhones and iPods.

Leitrim sources have estimated the cost of the robbery at between €2,500 and €3,000.

Gardaí are investigating the incident.

Leitrim ladies football chairman Ray O’Connor said:

“It’s really devastating for the girls, to lose a match they should have won and then to come out to the bus and find their stuff gone.

“I never saw the girls as devastated.”

Local gardaí were alerted and received a description of possible culprits, who were seen close to the area at the time.
