Banner in historic bid

CLARE bid to reach their first ever All-Ireland IHC final when they go head-to-head with Galway in this evening’s semi-final tie in Cusack Park in Ennis at 6.30pm.

They won their first provincial title this year and possess a strong line up. Former seniors Tony Carmody and Niall Gilligan provide vital experience, while last year’s minor Daire Keane and 2009 NUIG Fitzgibbon Cup winner Patrick Kelly have also been in excellent form.

Galway will field a strong side with players like Damien McClearn, Pat Holland, Kevin Brady, Fergal Healy and Conor Kavanagh all having former senior experience.

Galway (v Clare IHC): K O’Grady; A Leech, D McClearn, P Holland; J O’Leary, D Hayes, B Mahoney; K Brady, N Callanan; F Healy, K Kilkenny, E Concannon; C Kavanagh, K Keehan, B Murphy.

Clare (v Galway IHC): TBC.
