Holders Raharney advance to county semi-finals

REIGNING champions Raharney, title contenders Clonkill and outsiders Castletown-Geoghegan have all qualified for the semi-finals of the Westmeath SHC after the weekend’s matches.

The remaining semi-final spot will be decided when Lough Lene Gaels play St Oliver Plunkett’s in the only quarter-final of the championship.

As expected Clonkill and Raharney were the top two finishers in the winners’ section, with Clonkill defeating Raharney in a high-scoring match in the final group game by 6-14 to 2-14 in Cusack Park yesterday evening.
