Gardaí called after alleged assault on teen

GARDAÍ have launched an investigation into an alleged assault during an Offaly GAA game on Saturday night.

The alleged incident occurred in a county Division One Football League final between Ballycumber and Edenderry in Mucklagh. Ballycumber won the game after extra-time (1-17 to 0-12).

However, the game was marred by an incident when a Ballycumber selector allegedly struck a teenage member of the Edenderry team with less than 10 minutes remaining in normal time.
