Kavanagh staying focused

BEATING a Meath team heavily criticised this year doesn’t equate to significant progress, warns Kildare’s James Kavanagh.

Last year’s All Star forward nominee is reluctant to read too much into Saturday’s victory, although he admits the Lilies can be seen as a team gathering momentum.

“That seems to be the way,” he agreed, “but we won’t hide the fact that we’re disappointed not to get a Leinster. This is our fourth year at it and we have nothing really to show for it.
