CORK footballer Ciarán Sheehan will today learn the extent of an injury he suffered during yesterday’s Munster SFC final.

Sheehan was forced to retire from the tie early in the second half and had to have his leg strapped.

Dr Con Murphy last night confirmed that the Éire Óg attacker would undergo a scan today to fully assess the damage.

Colm O’Neill has already been ruled out of this year’s championship with a cruciate ligament injury. Fintan Goold replaced Sheehan yesterday while his brother David and Fiachra Lynch are other attacking options available to Conor Counihan should Sheehan’s injury keep him out of action.
