O’Brien return boosts Déise for Limerick clash
The Roanmore youngster, who impressed in last summer’s minor championship, missed the Déise outfit’s first round victory over Tipperary in April but has claimed a midfield spot for the weekend. His inclusion results in Shane Roche moving to left half-back with Jim Power making way.
The only other change in personnel made by manager Liam O’Connor sees Shane McNulty named at right half-forward alongside De La Salle clubmates Jake Dillon and Adam O’Sullivan. Darragh Flynn moves to full-forward with Chris Kervick the player to lose out.
Tipperary boss Raymie Ryan has made one switch in personnel for their Munster MHC semi-final meeting with Clare on Friday night in Semple Stadium. Stephen Cahill is named at right corner-forward in place of Conor Hammersley. Two members of the starting XV, midfielder Bill Maher and full-forward Liam McGrath, will also be in action for the county footballers in Sunday week’s Munster MFC final against Cork. McGrath is joined in attack by his cousin John, younger brother of senior star Noel.
Meanwhile the All-Ireland hurling qualifier phase two clash between Galway and Clare has been fixed for Pearse Stadium at 7pm on Saturday week July 2nd and will be televised live on RTÉ. The other phase two clash between Limerick and Wexford will take place earlier that day in the Gaelic Grounds at 5pm. This Saturday’s phase one qualifier clash between Cork and Offaly Páirc Uí Chaoimh has been changed to 2.30pm.
