Barry: 2008 hangover is finally gone

REDMOND BARRY admits it’s taken an incredible amount of work to recover from the realisation they were so close to an All-Ireland final in 2008.

In Jason Ryan’s first year in charge, the Model County were eventually subdued by would-be champions Tyrone at the last-four stage.

But Barry acknowledges they were daunted by the task of repeating the trick in 2009. It was only last year that they began to show signs of recovery and last month’s win over Offaly was their first in the province since that fantastic 2008 season.
