Sludden’s return to inter-county duty delayed

MARTIN SLUDDEN will have to wait to take charge of his first senior inter-county championship game since last July’s controversial Leinster final after the GAA announced a change to the referee arrangements for next Sunday’s Ulster quarter-final between Cavan and Donegal with Sligo whistler Marty Duffy now set to officiate the match.

Sludden’s return to inter-county duty delayed

The change was made as a result of Sludden’s county Tyrone defeating Monaghan last Sunday as they now await the winners of the clash between Cavan and Donegal.

GAA policy is not to appoint referees to games where their own county is set to play the victors.
