Banner stars get intermediate call
Both were regular fixtures in the Clare senior attack until they retired two years ago but Gilligan has continued to be to the fore for his club Sixmilebridge and was joined by Carmody this year, who transferred from Inagh-Kilnamona. There is currently a break until the next stages of the Clare senior championship and county intermediate boss Kevin Kennedy has availed of that to add Gilligan and Carmody to his panel. The duo both featured in a challenge match for the Clare intermediate side against Limerick last week and will now be in contention for starting places against Cork.
