PERHAPS the best measure of how far Laois football’s stock has fallen is the fact that you could walk into a bookies today and be offered odds of 5/1 on them overcoming Dublin in their Leinster football quarter-final at Croke Park on Sunday.

Yet the sight of those sky blue jerseys will serve as a stark reminder of better days, days when defeating their more illustrious neighbours at underage levels was mere routine.
