Candid Canning won’t make excuses

GALWAY star Joe Canning is desperate to put his injury nightmare behind him and play a full role in Galway’s bid for All-Ireland honours.

Canning admitted in August he was unhappy with his form during the 2010 championship and was then sidelined with a foot problem for the majority of Galway’s league campaign. But Canning isn’t using such issues as an excuse for bad form.

He reasoned: “I just tell it the way it is. I don’t like talking bullshit. If I’m bad, I’m bad and that’s the way it is. We’ll see during the summer whether I’m better or not, and only time will tell whether the rest has done me good or not.
